Type 2 diabetes is a growing health problem, largely in part to the continued rise in obesity. It is not unique to adults and is becoming more of a concern for children and teenagers.

Protein is important as we have seen in many functions and processes in the body. When the body is injured and undergoes the healing process, it requires an increased amount of protein. Protein and its amino acids are the building blocks that are required in the growth of new skin to replace the damaged tissue. This is a connective tissue that replaces a fibrin clot in healing wounds. It develops ‘base-first’ to fill the wound and is the final stages of the healing.
